Wild talks, a weekend listening to nature

8-9-10 October, an unmissable chance to experience the fallow deer's breeding season. Arrival is scheduled for Friday afternoon so that all participants can have the opportunity to settle down. The two-day excursions to discover the Apennines and its inhabitants, both wildlife and human, will start the following day. Let's meet in Val di Taro, Emilia-Romagna, together with IO NON HO PAURA DEL LUPO team!

🌍 A great opportunity to hear the stories of the guardians of these areas and to support the development of big and small realities, constantly focusing on environmental protection and traditions recovery. The program has been defined to allow all nature lovers to participate: there will be no long treks, but learning and discovering walks guided by Daniele Ecotti, IO NON HO PAURA DEL LUPO President. To amplify the nature full immersion, we have chosen to stay overnight in a yurt, a structure that blends perfectly with the surrounding environment, offering participants a breakfast with the homemade products of Ca 'Cigolara.

🦌 Here is the program for the weekend 8-10 October 2021:

Friday 8 October: arrival in Val di Taro by the evening, greetings and short introduction to the weekend activities. Possibility to enjoy a local products dinner at Ca 'Cigolara. First night in yurt.

Saturday 9 October: appointment at dawn for wildlife observations in the Ghirardi Reserve and back to the accommodation to enjoy a good breakfast. Thanks to Daniele, we will learn more about IO NON HO PAURA DEL LUPO and its collaboration with LOTO. The day will continue with an excursion to the reserve for video traps recovery with a packed lunch. Return to Ca 'Cigolara and sharing of the data collected from the retrieved video traps. For the tireless, during the sunset, it will be possible to take a stand to observe nature. Free dinner. Possibility to enjoy a local products dinner at Ca 'Cigolara.

Sunday 10 October: let's meet at dawn for wildlife observations, listening roar the fallow deers in love. Well deserved breakfast at Ca 'Cigolara. Latest excursion to place video traps with packed lunch. The activities will end around 3:00/4:00 pm to allow everyone to a good return.

Participation fee: 150 euros.

The fee includes participation at the learning weekend with excursions in Val di Taro; contribution supporting LOTO activities and 2021 membership card, contribution supporting IO NON HO PAURA DEL LUPO activities. Two-night yurt stay (each yurt has 4 comfy beds and a private bathroom), Saturday and Sunday breakfast.

The fee does not include any part not expressly indicated in the paragraph above "the fee includes".

The journey starts with sharing: according to the city of departure, LOTO is available to organize shared departures for members leaving from nearby areas.

Possibility of Ca 'Cigolara packed lunch: 10 euros per person. Possibility to have dinner at Ca'Cigolara: 25 euros per person.

Considering the event features, the maximum number of participants is 8. To better organize the group and reserve places in the yurt, we ask to all interested participants to contact us by 24 September.

💡 To all responsible hikers: all the activities will be carried out in Alta Val Taro and Val Taro River Park regions. The on-field staff will take responsibility for modifying and integrating the learning walks program according to daily weather conditions and the availability of the group to walk and discover the territories. Nature always has the last word!

🌱 Becoming a LOTO member is essential for everyone interested in our reality and willing to participate in the activities and projects promoted by LOTO. Here are all the details!

What to bring with you: 30-litre backpack, hiking shoes, thermal layers (fleece), rain cape, hat, gloves, sunscreen, water bottle (1,5L), trekking poles (if keen on the use), headlamp, binoculars, small notebook.

⚠️ All the planned activities will be carried out in compliance with the anti covid-19 directives. All participants must comply with the outlines communicated from LOTO and IO NON HO PAURA DEL LUPO. Keep a safe distance and avoid any kind of grouping.
