Re.Connect: slow trekking in Abruzzo

A journey into the land of the Marsican brown bear, to rediscover the beauty of moving in the open air and reconnecting with the essential: a precious trail, local food, a passionate guide and travel mates in search of sharing experiences.

🌍 From 9th May to 2nd June, guided excursions and encounters with Salviamo l'Orso volunteers await you: a unique opportunity to deepen how relevant are the daily activities carried out by the Association, always committed to promoting good practices of coexistence between the Marsican brown bear and the local community. The heart of the journey is the discovery of the Sirente Velino Regional Natural Park, an area where the bear is slowly returning. Together we will get to know all the hues of the thousand environments that characterise the area while visiting the villages and learning about their history and the local fauna.

💡 What to bring with you: 30-litre backpack, hiking shoes, thermal layers (fleece), rain cape, hat, gloves, sunscreen, water bottle (1,5L) trekking poles, headlamp, binoculars, small notebook and all the necessary for personal hygiene and towels. Participation fee: 280 euros The fee includes travel training, arrival/departure logistic assistance by LOTO; excursions with AIGAE Abruzzo guide; 4 nights hostel accommodation in shared rooms equipped with sheets and blankets. The fee does not include all daily meals (kitchen available at the hostel) and the insurance policy for the whole stay.

Requirement for participation: a negative result to rapid antigen-test performed 48 hours before arrival on site.
