Responsible tourism: LOTO joins AITR network

We have always wanted to stand out from the online classic international volunteering experiences, proposed with the only aim of satisfying volunteers’ aspirations rather than beneficiaries' needs.

Consequently, we have chosen to distance ourselves from negative dynamics that often arise from improvised and unaware travel experiences.

💡 Through studies, updating and constant improvement, we have fully endorsed the spread of a new culture of travelling and volunteering, both in Italy and abroad. We recognize the training phase as a fundamental step for every departure, finding the right balance between the complex needs and triggering exchanges of ideas and virtuous resources for both, territories and communities.

Hence the desire to join a network that could support us, connecting our reality with colleagues animated by the same passions that have inspired our first steps in the responsible tourism sector, a few years ago.

We became AITR members and there could not be a better way to get back to...hit the road!

The Italian Responsible Tourism Association promotes the dissemination and affirmation of the culture, principles and practices of sustainable and responsible tourism, promoting positive interaction between local communities, travellers and tour operators. The association is also committed to encouraging knowledge, coordination and synergies between its members.

Conscious that there is still a long way to go to improve volunteer travels transforming them into learning experiences, we are now sure about the path we have chosen, thanks also to the connection with AITR and its engaging network of members.
